Eric and Jenny Semmler have been involved in the wine industry since 1986, and share a passion for the fortified wines of Australia.
Eric previously made fortified wines for Hardy Wine Company at Berri Estates, and worked at Brown Brothers in Milawa. Jenny has worked for Strathbogie vineyards, Pennyweight Wines and St. Huberts.

Inspired by the European traditions of making fortified wines, they have planted varieties used in the fortified wines of Rutherglen and Portugal. Low yielding vines capture and concentrate the varietal and regional characteristics of this fruit. Grapes are handpicked, fermented in open fermenters and pressed gently in a basket press. The must is then fortified to stop fermentation and capture the flavours of the fruit. The resulting wine is matured in old wood, then blended to give a rich, complex wine of great intensity.
919 table wines exhibit similar fruit characetristics, but are drier in style.
